Ghost hunting at Lunan Lodge
 |
If you'd like to spend a night - even longer, if you
have the courage - in Scotland's most haunted B&B, if you'd like to see a
real, no-longer-live ghost with your own eyes, now's your chance. |
- Explore the spooky history of the house. Find out who lived
here, and (more importantly) who died here.
- Who is "George", and what is his terrible story?
- Tour the local haunted sites:
- Visit the gravestone which refuses to have its photograph
taken.
- Go to the ovens which were used as a prison - by
monks!
- Check out the Scottish witch trials of the 17th and 18th
centuries - was one of your ancestors among the hapless victims?
And finally, if you can spend a whole night in the "Shouty Man
Room" without running away like a chicken, we'll give you a certificate in the
morning to commemorate your bravery.
Ghost safaris
Even better than spending a night in a haunted house is to be
guided, on your very own ghost hunt, by experienceed ghost hunters! They can
tell you what you can expect to see, hear, and feel; they can show you how to
use the tools and instruments, and they can communicate with any passing
spirits.
So, if you'd prefer some expert guidance as you hunt our ghosts,
we can help there too! We've teamed up with some of the most experienced
ghost-hunters in Scotland. These are people who know the house well, they have
years of accumulated expereince behind them, and they know how to run the most
exciting and rewarding events. They bring with them their own experienced
psychics, as much equipment as you'll ever need, and the ability to use both.
Their skills, experience, and professionalism are all of the very best!
Throughout the evening, everything that happens will be
photographed, video taped, and sound-recorded. Afterwards, it will all be
checked and catalogued. Once that's been done, we'll post the best bits on a
special, participants-only webpage, so you'll be able to download a permanent
reminder of your ghost hunt.
Please understand: this is not just a simple floor-show.
These are genuine psychic investigations. Nothing is staged, and everything you
see, hear, and feel will be genuine. The evening will be fun, will
certainly be tiring, may even be terrifying, and will probably be intensely
moving. But even more: what you help to discover will become part of the body
of evidence which we're collecting about the history of Lunan Lodge.

Any other dates?
We run our Ghost Safaris over the winter - it's too light and
busy in the summer to do a successful ghost hunt.
We'll be planning our next season later in the year, and we'll
post the dates on here as soon as they're finalised.
If you'd like advance notice of the dates, even before they're
published here, then drop us a line and we'll add
you to the mailing list.
FAQ
Is it safe?
Yes, it's safe. We've never heard any credible report of anybody
being attacked or harmed by a ghost.
Most of our ghosts either just get on with their afterlives
without bothering anybody, or are positively friendly. (Actually, we suspect
that most of them don't realise they're dead!). We have one or two who are a
bit more aggressive, but really they're more frightening than dangerous. Nobody
has ever died at our B&B who wasn't already dead.
Is it safe for children?
Generally: yes. In fact, psychic ability seems to work much
better when children are around.
On the other hand, by its nature, a ghost hunt may deal with
subjects of an upsetting or distressing nature (ghosts are dead people, after
all!) A degree of maturity (or possibly some adult help) may be needed to
handle such things.
We don't impose an age limit. We leave it to you to decide
whether your children are mature enough to enjoy the experience.
Am I guaranteed to meet a ghost?
Unfortunately, no. Just as there are some people who are very
good at seeing ghosts, there are a few people who never see anything at all.
Chances are, you're somewhere in between - you'll see or hear or feel something
when the conditions are right. Naturally, you'll have your best chances of
meeting a ghost if you go somewhere where there's lots of ghosts - like Lunan
Lodge!
The ghosts themselves are not there all the time. Sometimes the
house is buzzing with the undead, and sometimes it's just dead. Like the
Scottish weather, you just have to take your chances. |
