There is an enormous range of things to do here
in Angus. Right through the summer - and through the winter too - there are
festivals, fairs, games, and events.
This is an area which is steeped in history!
The first people to live here were the Picts some 5000 years ago. In 700AD, St
Columbine landed just five miles down the coast at Arbroath, bringing
Christianity to Scotland, and the abbey he built has shaped commerce and
politics ever since. (The abbey built and controlled the port, and in 1320 the
Declaration of Arbroath was signed there.)
We're surrounded by castles, both ruined and
inhabited, and almost everywhere you look you'll see the spirit of Scotland
speaking down the ages.
