Fishing in the South Esk

An Angler's paradise!

Scotland is justly famous for its fishing. And right here, on the East coast, you'll find some of the most unforgettable!

The Esk rivers, North and South, are to the north of us. The season extends from the 16th February until the end of October - the length of the season reflects the opportunity to catch salmon right from the opening day. May also sees the start of the sea trout runs.

To the south of us lies the Tay, Britain's longest river, and perhaps its most famous - until recently catches were higher than any other river. The Tay's fame as a salmon river has overshadowed its other types; its brown trout fishing is excellent and even its sea trout fishing is often underestimated.

We're ideally placed for the excellent sea fishing along the entire coast from Elliott Beach, along the Arbroath cliffs, all the way up to Ferryden. And there's excellent boat fishing out of Arbroath between April and October.

Some of the world's most famous fishing, loads for the family to do while you're out - what more could you ask for?

Alba Rods has a tiny niche in the rod building market. They build rods for most styles of angling, and specialise in custom rods built to the clients` own requirements.

Established in 1967 and based near Glasgow in Scotland, Alba Rods is a small family business which has retained traditional hand crafting expertise and customer service whilst incorporating the most up to date components and materials available.
